InnerPulse 2.0 is a focused update all about the influencing factors. It makes your daily check-in smoother without you ever having to leave your entry. This release sums up what's new in a nutshell. For how factors work in general, head to the chapter on Influencing factors in the docs.
New factors straight from the search
Until now you had to leave your entry to add a new factor. Now you create missing factors right from the search, in the middle of your check-in. You type a name that doesn't exist yet and create it with a single tap. Your entry stays open.
Three new default factors
InnerPulse comes with three new predefined factors, each with synonyms in all seven languages:
New in version 2.0
Digital
Social media break
Days when you deliberately stay offline.
Cycle
PMS
The premenstrual phase as a recurring factor.
Cycle
Cycle week
Assigns entries to the matching week in your cycle.
The two cycle factors in particular help make recurring mood patterns visible. For how cycle and mood connect, see the article Mood and cycle: PMDD.
Tidier search and factor counter
Two small but noticeable improvements: the results list no longer shows unrelated active factors and stays focused on your search. And a tap on the factor counter now jumps straight to the first active category. That way you keep the overview even with lots of factors.
More on this in the docs
All factor features, from custom categories to opposite pairs, are covered in detail in the chapter on Influencing factors. For how to use the check-in as a whole, see the chapter on the Mood journal. For a solid scientific take on why context factors help with mood tracking, see the WHO on the topic of depression.
